St James man shot dead at home

A 27-year-old man was gunned downt his Dundonald Hill, St James home on Thursday morning.

Police said residents heard gunshots at Detour Drive, Bellevue at around 8.20 am and saw Derrick Atkins George bleeding on the ground in a corridor at his house.

Police were called in together with a district medical officer, who declared George dead at the scene.

Investigators said George was shot several times in the arms and chest.

Police from the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 1 are continuing enquiries.
