Cunningham: 'God is in control'

God is in control.

This was Sheldon Cunningham’s response to Newsday when asked how he felt after being rejected by the PNM’s screening committee to contest the Mason Hall/Moriah/Providence electoral district in the upcoming THA election.

Cunningham, who is the Assistant Secretary in the Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment, has served the district for the past eight years.

He represented the area under former chief secretaries Orville London and Kelvin Charles.

But although he won the seat in two consecutive THA elections, Cunningham was never given the position of secretary.

This time around, he was rejected by the screening committee in favour of Secretary for Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment and PNM Tobago Council PRO Kwesi Des Vignes.
