Two men held for raping teen neighbour

TWO men, 25 and 29, have been charged with abduction and rape of a minor.

They are expected to appear virtually before an Arima magistrate on Wednesday. The men were charged after surrendering to officers of the Child Protection Unit (CPU) on Tuesday at the Belmont police station.

Police said the alleged victim, a 16-year-old girl, took a PH taxi at Five Rivers Junction, Arouca to be taken home.

The two suspects – the driver and passenger – are both known to the alleged victim. The men, instead of taking her home, allegedly took her to Victory Heights, Arouca where they allegedly forced her out of the car and raped her.

The girl made a report at the Arouca police station and WPC Dorman of the Northern Division CPU started investigations before the men surrendered.

They were each charged with sexual penetration of a minor and abduction.
