Provide forex for corn, soya bean crops

THE EDITOR: It was interesting to see the Minister of Agriculture having difficulty with those farmers who leased land but were not working the land.

This may be due to the crops the farmers agreed on producing falling too low in price to make it worthwhile.

With the allocation of $500 million by the Minister of Finance to grow more food and so import less, the Agriculture Minister should persuade his fellow minister to allocate more foreign exchange so crops like corn and soya bean can be grown.

So factories can make soya bean oil, and tractors and harvesters now imported.
