Former public utilities minister and banker Robert Le Hunte has joined Ansa McAl as a financial services adviser.

Le Hunte, who dramatically quit the Cabinet in May after a reportedly heated exchange with the Prime Minister over a "professional conflict on policy positions," said to be on water meters, will join the conglomerate's financial services sector, headed by former finance minister Larry Howai.

Le Hunte begins his tenure on November 1 and will report directly to the CEO, a statement from Ansa McAl said.

The role, the group said, represents a strategic addition to the group's financial services sector.

Le Hunte served as a minister from September 2017 until his resignation in May.

He was also a banker for more than 30 years, heading Republic Financial Holdings Ltd's Ghana operations before switching to government.

Ansa said Le Hunte will work closely with the group's executive team towards strategic growth of financial services, including the establishment and integration of commercial banking.
