People doing business at licensing offices will now be required to show proof of address starting on November 23.

The Ministry of Works said in a statement on Friday last week some services will now require clients to provide a recent utility bill such as one for  a landline phone, or from T&TEC, WASA or Flow. In the case of a renter, a copy of the rental/lease agreement bearing the name of the applicant is required.

“If the utility bill or lease/rental is not in the applicant’s name, a letter from the owner confirming the applicant’s residence and a copy of the owner’s national ID card must be submitted.”

The proof of address provided should not be older than three months from the date of application.

Documents requiring the updated proof of address include drivers’ permits and endorsements; forms  for registering a  vehicle; transfer of vehicle registration; and notification of changes to a vehicle or  to driving permit details.
