National Security Minister Stuart Young said he remains committed to the well-being and performance of all fire officers, as he met with members of the Fire Service Association on Wednesday.

A media release from the ministry said Young met with the association's president Leo Ramkissoon at his Abercromby Street office, where they discussed infrastructural improvements, auxiliary fire officers and the relocation of the Scarborough fire station.

The release said Young told Ramkissoon the needs and concerns of fire officers were among his top priorities. He said a tripartite committee of officials from the ministry, the fire service and the Fire Service Association will be held soon.

In the release, Ramkisson said he was heartened by Young's assurances and was grateful for the effort shown to address the needs of fire officers.
