Alleged Oropouche car thief denied bail

An Oropouche man who was arrested and charged for stealing a carwas denied bail when he appeared before a San Fernando magistrate on Thursday.

A police media release said David Ramsey was arrested when he was stopped by police on Hector Street, La Romaine, while driving a black Kia Cerato.

Ramsey got out of the car and ran off but was arrested.

The release said the car was reported stolen by its owner and had false registration plates.

The owner identified Ramsey as the man who stole the car. He was charged with robbery with violence and was remanded into custody.
