THE country has recorded a grim milestone, passing 100 covid19 deaths. In the Ministry of Health’s daily 4 pm update on Wednesday, three new deaths were announced, those of an elderly man, an elderly woman and a younger person, which takes the national covid19 death total to 101.
The ministry also reported on Wednesday that there are 59 new covid19 cases.
There are 1,459 active cases.
The country has now had 5,392 cases, of whom 3, 852 have recovered.
Ten patients have been discharged and there have been 64 recovered community cases.
Seventy-five patients are still hospitalised.
Fifty patients remain in step-down facilities, 280 in state quarantine and 1,334 in home isolation.
A total of 13,846 samples have been submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency, UWI, and other local testing sites.
