Woman's body found in La Horquetta house

POLICE are investigating the circumstances behind the death of a 50-year-old woman whose body was found on Tuesday morning days after residents complained of getting a foul stench in the area.

Police said they were called to Edwin Roberts Crescent, Phase Five, La Horquetta, at around 10.30 am by residents who reported smelling a foul stench coming from a house. Residents said they were getting the stench since over the weekend.

When police went to the house they found the front door ajar and on entering, found the body of Arlene White lying on a couch in the living room. The body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre in St James and an autopsy will be done today to ascertain cause of death.

Police said that because the woman's body was in an advanced stage of decomposition, they could not say if foul play was involved in her deaths. Investigations are ongoing.
