One more covid19 death, 35 more cases

ONE more person has died and 35 more people have tested positive for covid19.

The Health Ministry, in its Tuesday update, said the deceased was an elderly male with pre-exisiting medical conditions.

His death brings the total number of covid19-related deaths to 98.

Active cases have dropped to 1,477.

Six more people were discharged from public health facilities.

There are 80 covid19 patients in hospital: at the Couva Hospital there are 59 patients, five of whom are in ICU and ten in High Dependency Units; at Caura Hospital there are 16, at Arima General Hospital there are two, one of whom is in ICU; and three at Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

There are 1,346 people home-isolated and under monitoring by the county medical officer of health offices and 369 in state quarantine facilities.

There are 51 patients at step-down/transition facilities, with 26 at Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, ten at the UWI Debe Campus and 15 in Tobago.

There have been 56 recovered community cases and a total of 3, 758 recovered patients.

The total number of cases to date is 5,333.
