The tropical wave currently affecting parts of the Lesser Antilles being monitored by the Met Office has weakened and further development is not expected.

On Tuesday, the Met Office reported the wave, although not a direct threat to TT, would bring heavy rain and gusty winds, but an update said the wave has weakened in the past 24 hours.

“Although the main area of activity associated with the tropical wave is still east of the Lesser Antilles, locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds over some of the islands are still possible.”

It said the office will not issue more updates on the tropical wave, but added that it will still continue to closely monitor this tropical wave as well as any other pertinent weather system, for development and issue relevant advisories or alerts in a timely manner.”

For further information, the public is advised to follow the Met Office’s social media accounts, visit www.metoffice.gov.tt or download the app (TT Met Office).
