The relatives of murdered electrician Jason Granderson said they are depressed after hearing about the murder of the head of the family.

Granderson, 43, and accounting assistant Gregory Robinson, 35, were liming with three of their friends at a house on Jacobin Street, Morvant, at around 10.30 pm when a white Nissan B13 approached the group and someone in it shot at them.

Police took the wounded men to the Port of Spain General Hospital, where Granderson and Robinson were declared dead on arrival.

Granderson's brother was also wounded. One of the other imjured men was identified as a police officer assigned to the Guard and Emergency Branch, and another is a coastguardsman.

Speaking with Newsday at the Forensic Science Centre, St James, on Wednesday, Granderson's relatives said they were shaken by the murders and believed the intended victims were not even at the lime.

"None of the people who were there last night were the targets of the gunmen. The person who they were looking for wasn't even there that night.

"We are depressed and stressed."

Granderson, they said, "didn't deserve that and his brother didn't deserve to get shot. Nobody deserved to die from that group."

Robinson's relatives declined to comment.

Police believe the gunmen were told their intended target would be liming at that spot.

Investigators said two of the survivors were in critical condition.

Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region I are continuing enquiries.
