Tobago man charged for giving alcohol to minor

A 37-YEAR-OLD man from Goodwood, Tobago was granted $50,000 bail with a surety or a $5,000 cash bail alternative when he appeared virtually before a Scarborough magistrate on Tuesday charged with one count of giving a minor alcohol.

The matter was postponed to November 10. A police press release on Wednesday said the man was arrested and charged on Monday after an investigation into a report that a 13-year-old girl was seen behaving in an uncontrollable manner in the Moriah area.

WPC Procope-Myers of the Tobago Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) led investigations and the child was taken to be examined medically. It was confirmed that the she was intoxicated.

Warrant Officer Cpl Caruth found and arrested the suspect who was handed over to the Tobago Division of the CPU, after which he was charged. Investigations were led by acting Supt George, Ag ASP Sookdeo and supervised by Sgt Miller.
