Two additional covid19 deaths carry total to 92

There have been two additional deaths from the covid19 virus, carrying the total to 92. The two patients were two men, one elderly, both with co-morbidities.

The health ministry's update on Monday said 15 new positive cases had been reported in the last 24 hours. The number of positive cases reported usually reflects the samples taken during the last three days and not the last 24 hours.

These patients will be processed for admission at the discretion of the county medical officers of health. Fifteen people have been discharged from public health facilities and there are 42 recovered community cases.

The are now 1,715 active cases, and the total number of cases since March is 5,116. of whom 3,303 have recovered.

There are 105 people in hospital: 58 at the Couva Hospital and Multi-Training Facility, with four in the intensive-care unit and six in the high-dependency unit; 25  at the Caura Hospital; three at the Arima General Hospital, with three in the ICU; and 19 at Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort.

There are 39 patients in step-down facilities, 27 at the Claxton Bay Correctional Facility, two at UWI Debe and two in Tobago.
There are 44 people in state quarantine facilities, and 1,571 people in home self-isolation.

The total number of people tested to date in the public sector stands at 30,652. A total of 15,538 private-sector covid19 tests have also been done in addition to the public-sector figure. The release said the number of private-sector tests will be reported each Monday.
