THE 2020 Virtual Scotiabank Women against Breast Cancer (SWABC) 5K has been rescheduled to October 31 and participation is now free of charge.

Originally, the annual 5K was scheduled to run off on Saturday. However, organisers have opted to climax Breast Cancer Awareness month with the historic event, which would be held virtually for the first time owing to the covid19 pandemic.

Those who previously registered for this year’s event have already received a correspondence from organisers indicating if they would like a refund or if the funds can be used as a donation.

For those who still wish to participate, although free, organisers are still encouraging people to make contributions to the cause.

Men, women, children, the elderly and persons with limited mobility can now join in on this event from the comfort of their homes and help raise awareness and funds to help more people access breast cancer screening.

This year, there’s no need to walk/run the 5K. The event will take place fully online. There are four exercise segments participants can indulge in such as yoga, Zumba, high intensity interval training and a special segment for persons with limited mobility.

To connect to the live stream, enthusiasts can follow SWABC on Instagram, like their Facebook page or subscribe on YouTube.

Those who still to contribute to the cause can do so by adding the following business account as a transfer recipient via online banking. Donations can be sent to Scotiabank Trinidad and Tobago Limited (bank name), Donations for Breast Cancer Screening (account name), 001301898 (account number), 74815 (transit) and Business/Chequing (account type).

Scotiabank TT Foundation will match all funds contributed and the total amount will be donated to this year’s beneficiary, the TT Cancer Society.
