A reading of Veronique Francois' play, Who Cah Hear will feature at the National Drama Association’s (NDATT) Playwrights Workshop Trinbago (PWT) Monthly Readers Theatre Series (MRTS) on Wednesday.

The reading will take place via Zoom and will also be streamed live on NDATT’s Facebook page at 7 pm.

Who Cah Hear tells the story of police officer Angie Hastly. She is charged with the responsibility of upholding the law and being level-headed.

However, she cannot control her temper, her family life is out of order and she isn’t in good graces at her job either. Instead of trying to make things better, she continues to make decisions that make her life a living hell and blames everyone but herself for her lack of control over her emotions.

Hastly’s story is a look at the everyday TT citizen’s outlook on crime and also poses the question, "What is the cause of crime?", said a media release.

Francois is a playwright, director and teacher at Bishop's Centenary College. She began writing short stories and speeches at age ten, and writing and directing plays in 2014. Francois has had multiple scripts read at the theatre series, including Dirty Laundry, Where Sarah Gone? and the first episode of a TV series titled The Death of Me, the release said.

The PWT is inviting actors, playwrights, directors, producers and the public to join in on Zoom and Facebook @IamNDATT to listen to the reading and participate in the discussion in the comment section of the post to assist the playwright in further development of the script.
