Another covid19 death brings total to 84

The Ministry of Health reported on Wednesday morning that another covid19 patient has died. The patient was an elderly male with pre-existing conditions. This brings the total number of deaths to 84.

The ministry also reported 30 more people have tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,782. The total number of positive cases is now 4,876.

The number of tests submitted to CARPHA for testing is 32,770. The number of unique patient tests is 29,664 with 3,106 repeated tests.

The total number of patients discharged is now 1,114 as seven people have been discharged from public health facilities. The ministry said the number of recovered community cases, referring to patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria, is 52. The total number of recovered community cases is now 1,896.

There are currently 106 patients in hospital care. Couva hospital now houses 65 patients – five in intensive care and eight in high dependency units.

Caura hospital has 26 patients and Arima has three patients all of whom are in intensive care.

St Anns has three patients, Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has eight and Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill has one.

There are 13 patients in step-down facilities. Ten patients are at UWI Debe, and three in Tobago.
