79 new covid19 cases, 1 death on Tuesday

THE Ministry of Health reported that a total of 79 people tested positive for covid19 on Tuesday.

The total number of active cases is now 1,812.

The total number of positive cases as of 6 pm on Tuesday was 4,846.

The ministry also reported one death for the day; an elderly male with pre-existing conditions.

The total number of deaths is 83. The number of tests submitted to Carpha for testing is 32,704.

The number of unique patient tests is 29,514 with 3,105 repeated tests.

The total number of patients discharged is now 1,107 as the ministry reported ten people were discharged from public health facilities on Tuesday morning.

The ministry said the number of recovered community cases, referring to patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria, is 57.

The total number of recovered community cases is 1,844.

There are currently 100 patients in hospital care. Couva hospital now houses 67 patients, five in intensive care and ten in high dependency units.

Caura hospital has 20 patients and Arima has three patients all of whom are in intensive care. St Anns has three patients and Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has seven.

There are 12 patients in step-down facilities. Nine patients are at UWI Debe, and three in Tobago.
