Another covid19 death brings total to 83

The Ministry of Health reported on Tuesday morning that another covid19 patient has died. The patient was an elderly male with pre-existing conditions.

This brings the total number of deaths to 83.

The ministry also reported 51 more people have tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of active cases in TT to 1,784, representing a further decrease.

The total number of cases is now 4,818.

Discharged patients now number 1,107, as ten people have been sent home from public health facilities.

The ministry said there were 57 recovered community cases, referring to patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria.

There is a total of 1,844 recovered community cases.

There are currently 100 patients in hospital care. Couva hospital now houses 67 patients, five in intensive care and ten in high dependency units. Caura hospital has 20 patients and Arima has three patients all are in the ICU. St Ann's has three patients and Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has seven.

There are 12 patients in step-down facilities, nine at UWI Debe, and three in Tobago.

The number of samples submitted to Carpha for testing is 32,619. Those consist of 29, 514 unique patient tests, with 3,105 repeated tests.
