All Tobagonians whose applications for the salary relief grant have been approved, have received it.

At a virtual press conference on Tuesday, Secretary of Health, Wellness and Family Development Tracy Davidson-Celestine said, “We have received information from that ministry (Social Development and Family Services) that there are no outstanding payments to Tobagonians. All of the applications that have been received to date have been dealt with and so we expect that all of the persons have received their salary relief support up to this time.”

She said there is now a help desk in Tobago for any assistance for future applicants who may want to query the status of their salary relief application from the Ministry.

“But at the same time, there are no reports of any applications for salary relief outstanding in the Ministry of Social Development.”

She said her division is focused on processing the remaining applications for rental assistance.

As of Tuesday, 800 applications for rental assistance have been processed totalling $6 million in payments.

“We have a few outstanding numbers of 100 (applications) that have not been processed because of challenges with the deed or (rental) contracts sent to the division, so we cannot process until those persons have come in to provide information to clarify what we have on file.”

She said the THA has also offered food support and there were other social assistance measures through different ministries.
