3 new covid19 patients, total active cases 1,801

The Ministry of Health reported on Monday morning three more people have tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of active cases in TT to 1,801.

The total number of cases since the pandemic reached TT is now 4,766.

Eighty-one people have died.

There are 100 patients in hospital care. Couva now houses 66 patients, including five in intensive care and nine in the high dependency unit. Caura Hospital has 21 patients and Arima four, all of whom are in intensive care. St Ann's has three patients.

Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has five and Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill has one.

There are 11 patients in step-down facilities, eight at UWI Debe, and three in Tobago.

The total number of patients discharged is now 1,097, as four people have been sent home from public health facilities.

The ministry said there are 37 recovered community cases, meaning patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria, is 37. There have now been 1, 787 recovered community cases.

The number of samples submitted to CARPHA for testing is 32,354. There have been 29,249 unique patient tests and 3,105 repeated tests.
