Teen feared drowned in Claxton Bay

THE search continues for 19-year-old Josiah Henry who is believed to have drowned at sea on Saturday.

Henry went fishing with two other men in a pirogue at Claxton Bay near the Trinidad Cement Limited compound.

Reports indicate that the boat engine died while the trio were some 200 feet away from shore.
Henry reportedly jumped into the water to get a rope bring the boat back to shore but disappeared in the water. The water in that area is said to be very deep and can accommodate large vessels.

The men told St Margaret’s police they jumped into the water to search for Henry but could not find him.

Coast Guard officers were also contacted.

Government has ordered all beaches closed to the public due to the covid19 pandemic
The search continued up until Sunday afternoon, but Henry was not found.

Earlier this year another teen, Iverson Thomas drowned at a nearby beach in Pointe-a-Pierre and his body resurfaced in La Brea several days later.
