A Tableland father's wish for his daughter to be able to take part in online classes became a reality overnight.

Businessman and owner of Feli-Med Supplies Reesal John presented the Abdool family with a new HP laptop which he bought for them.

Isabella’s story became public when Newsday highlighted her father Ryan Abdool's appeal for a device for his daughter, who is six.

John was among scores of good Samaritans who contacted the family after reading the story.

People began putting up money to buy a laptop for the child, while others began arranging to buy one over the weekend. Abdool contacted these good Samaritans to tell them that Isabella had already been given one.

He said he is overjoyed.

“I was almost brought to tears. I really did not expect this amount of love for my daughter. This country has so many good people, people with kind hearts. I want to tell all of you thank you from the bottom of my heart. Thank you for helping Isabella.”

Abdool said he wished he could meet every one of the individuals who pledged their support just to thank them.

“My heart is full. I am so happy Issy will be able to start school on Monday. She is so happy.”

Another benefactor is expected to meet the family on Saturday to set up an internet connection.

Within the last four years, Abdool was involved in two accidents which left him unable to walk. He uses a wheelchair. He lives with Isabella and wife Macy Sooklal, who does not work outside the home

On September 21, 2016, he was left paralysed after a car crash.

While he was still recovering, four months later the family's house caved in during a storm. His wife was able to run out with their daughter before the house collapsed.
