11 new covid19 cases, but total drops to 1,837

The Ministry of Health reported on Thursday morning that 11 more people have tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of active cases to 1,837.

The number continues to drop. Wednesday evening's update reported there were 1,895 active cases.

With no new deaths reported, the number remains at 76.

The total number of cases since the pandemic reached TT is 4,542.

The number of tests submitted to Carpha for testing is 31,451. The number of unique patient tests is 28,388 with 3,063 repeated tests.

In all 1,067 patients have been discharged, as ten people have been sent home from public health facilities.

The ministry said there are 59 recovered community cases, referring to patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria. The total number of recovered community cases is now 1,418.

There are currently 114 patients in hospital care. Couva hospital has 66 patients, six in intensive care and five in high dependency units. Caura hospital has 39 patients and Arima has three patients all of whom are in intensive care. St Ann's has thee patients, Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has two and Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill has one.

There are ten patients in step-down facilities, six at UWI Debe, and four in Tobago.
