One covid19 death, 24 new cases on Monday

On Monday the Ministry of Health recorded one new covid19 death and 24 more cases.

In its 10 am update the Ministry said the country’s latest death is an elderly female with pre-existing conditions bringing the number of deaths to 72.

In the 6 pm update, the total number of positive covid19 cases was listed as 4,386 with 2,039 active cases.

On Monday morning the ministry said five more people have been discharged from public health facilities, and there are 36 more recovered community cases, namely people who were previously covid19 positive and in self-isolation at home, subsequently met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.

The ministry said 931 patients have been discharged from the Scarborough, Couva and Caura Hospitals. The number of recovered community cases now stands at 1,344 patients.

The number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing for covid19 is 30,765.
