9 new covid19 patients, 37 recovered community cases

The Ministry of Health reported on Sunday morning that nine additional people have tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 4,321. The total number of active cases is now 2,017.

The number of tests submitted to CARPHA for testing is 30,644. The number of unique patient tests is 27,581 with 3,063 repeated tests.

The total number of patients discharged is now 926 as 12 people have been discharged from hospital and step-down facilities. The ministry said the number of recovered community cases, referring to patients who were in self-isolation and met the ministry’s discharge criteria, is now 37. The total number of recovered community cases is now 1,308.

There are currently 102 patients in hospital care. Couva hospital now houses 56 patients, six in intensive care and six in the high dependency unit. Caura hospital has 27 patients and Arima has five patients with three in intensive care. Augustus Long Hospital has one patient, St Anns has ten, Scarborough Regional Hospital at the Fort has two and Scarborough General Hospital, Signal Hill has one.

There are 112 patients in step-down facilities. Four patients are at UWI Debe, 52 a UWI Canada Hall and 45 at UWI Freedom Hall and 11 in Tobago.

The number of deaths remains at 70.
