Killer/s of elderly Sangre Chiquito man at large

No one has yet been arrested in connection with an elderly man's chopping death in his home at Eastern Main Road in Sangre Chiquito.

Reports are at about 6.30 am on Wednesday, a friend who visited Kevin "Tallman" Trotman, 70, found his body with injuries to his head.

Police said the friend called out but did not get a response.

Together with a neighbour, the friend went into the house. They found Trotman's body, with wounds to his head, on the floor in the living room. The house was ransacked, and several household items appeared to be missing.

Sangre Grande and Homicide Bureau Region II police were contacted, and officers visited the scene.

A door to the back of the house was broken, leading investigators to believe robbery was the motive for the murder.

Residents reported that they last saw Trotman alive the night before.

An autopsy is expected to be done on Monday at the Forensic Sciences Centre in St James.

Anyone with information can contact the nearest police station or Homicide Bureau (Region II) at 640-7815/1738.
