Condolence book for Nigel Scott at TTW

A condolence book will be opened on Friday at the Trinidad Theatre Workshop at 6 Newbold Street, St Clair, Port of Spain in honour of veteran actor Nigel Scott. The book will be available from 10 am to 2 pm.

Scott, 73, died on Sunday after surviving cancer for 18 years. His funeral is scheduled to take place on Tuesday but will be private owing to covid19 restrictions.

He leaves to mourn his wife Minnie Gopaulchan, sister and Radio 97 announcer Celia Scott, children Jason, Dominic, Crystal and Kimiko and four grandchildren.

Scott was a founding member of the Trinidad Theatre Workshop and had a long relationship with its founder, the late Nobel laureate Derek Walcott since 1968. He acted in several of Walcott’s plays including The Joker of Seville, Pantomime, The Odyssey and O Starry Starry Night.

Scott, a freelance sales/marketing consultant, was also a businessman who operated his own company Scott’s Trading Ltd for 21 years and held several board appointments.
