Victoria district has most patients under covid19 home quarantine

THE Victoria district currently has the highest number of active cases that are currently under home isolation and quarantine.

This was announced by Chief Medical Officer Dr Roshan Parasram at the Health Ministry’s covid19 media briefing on Wednesday morning.

The major towns in Victoria county are San Fernando, Princes Town, Debe and Moruga. Parasram did not name specific towns in the county.

He used a chart, which he said used data from Monday, which showed the Victoria county currently holds 30.1 per cent of such people.

This was followed by St George Central with 15.5 per cent, Caroni with 12.5 per cent and St David/St Andrew with 11.2 per cent.

St George West has 10.1 per cent, St Patrick has nine per cent, and St George East has 8.1 per cent.

And finally, Nariva/Mayaro has 3.6 per cent.

Of those under home quarantine, he said 52.8 per cent are asymptotic cases.
