Not the way, Mr COP

THE EDITOR: I am reading a lot about the row between the Prime Minister and the Police Commissioner. I always thought it took two or more to make a row. The Prime Minister made a statement on September 12. Since then I have heard the commissioner every day. Not a word from the Prime Minister.

I am not a policeman, but I was married to one for 42 years and one thing he knew was respect for those in authority. I grew up hearing my parents and teachers say “respect your elders and those in authority.” As a Christian I try to follow Jesus's teaching to turn the other cheek.

As a father, what example is the commissioner setting for his son? I admire his job performance, but he must learn to take criticism and be more temperate with his words. He can disagree, but please don't be disrespectful.
