44 new cases Monday, no new deaths

TT has recorded 44 more covid19 positive cases but no new deaths. The ministry in its covid19 updates Monday reported the number of deaths remained stable at 65 while active cases now stands at 2,078.

Four more people have been sent home taking the total number to 839, while an additional 45 people have recovered who were categorised as community cases taking that figure to 963. It noted that recovered community cases refer to people who were previously covid19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria.

There are 82 covid19 patients in hospital. At Couva there are 55 patients, two of whom are in ICU and five in High Dependency Units; at Caura Hospital there are 22; and at Arima General Hospital there are five, the release said.

There are 130 covid19 patients at step-down or transition facilities: 72 at Freedom Hall, UWI St Augustine; 52 at Canada Hall, UWI St Augustine; and six at UWI Debe Campus.

The number of samples submitted to Carpha, UWI and other local sites is 29,328. The number of unique patient tests completed is 26,120 and there have been 3,063 repeated tests. A total of 3,945 samples have tested positive.
