29 more test positive for covid19, no additional deaths

TWENTY-NINE more people have tested positive for covid19 in Trinidad and Tobago but no new deaths have been recorded.

The ministry, in its Tuesday morning covid19 update, reported active cases now stand at 2,038 while the number of deaths remained unchanged at 65.

Six more people were discharged, taking the figure to 845. There have been 63 additional recovered community cases taking the figure to 1,026.

There are 84 covid19 patients in hospital: at Couva Hospital there are 56 patients, three of whom are in ICU and nine in High Dependency Units, 25 at Caura Hospital, and three at Arima General Hospital.

There are 130 covid19 patients at step-down/transition facilities, with 72 at Freedom Hall at UWI, 52 at Canada Hall at UWI, and six at UWI Debe Campus.

The number of samples submitted to CARPHA, UWI and other local sites was 29,328. The number of unique patient tests completed is 26,265 and there have been 3,063 repeated tests. A total of 3,974 samples have tested positive.
