29 new covid19 cases, no new deaths

THE Ministry of Health is reporting 29 new covid19 cases in its latest update on Monday. There are now 2,063 active cases and the number of deaths is 65.

Four more people have been sent home, while an additional 45 people have recovered who were categorised as community cases. It noted that recovered community cases refer to people who were previously covid19 positive and in self-isolation at home and subsequently met the discharge criteria.

There are 82 covid19 patients in hospital. At Couva there are 55 patients, two of whom are in ICU and five in High Dependency Units; at Caura Hospital there are 22; and at Arima General Hospital there are five, the release said.

There are 130 covid19 patients at step-down or transition facilities: 72 at Freedom Hall, UWI St Augustine; 52 at Canada Hall, UWI St Augustine; and six at UWI Debe Campus.

The number of samples submitted to CARPHA, UWI and other local sites is 29,183. The number of unique patient tests completed is 26,120 and there have been 3,063 repeated tests. The number of samples that have tested positive is 3,930.
