TT records 88 more covid19 cases

There are 88 more cases of covid19 in TT, bringing the total number to 3,739.

The Health Ministry’s covid19 update on Saturday morning said the results were from samples taken from September 10-18.

The number of deaths remains at 60 but the number of active cases increased to 1,984.

Hospitalised were 86 patients. Fifty were at Couva hospital with four in the intensive care unit and seven in the high dependency unit. Twenty-five were at Caura hospital and 11 at the Arima hospital.

At step-down facilities there are 131 people.

It added that seven people were discharged from public health facilities, bringing that number to 829, and the number of recovered community cases was 866. These were people with covid19 who were self-isolated at home and later met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.

The number of samples submitted to public and private labs was 28,774, the number of unique patient tests was 25,711, and the number of repeated tests was 3,063.
