Another covid19 death brings total to 61

A man is the latest person to die from covid19 in TT. His death brings the total to 61.

The Ministry of Health, in its 6pm update on Saturday, said the man had pre-existing health conditions.

It was also announced that a total of 202 samples – 88 announced in the the 10 am update and 114 in the 6pm update – have tested positive bringing the total to 3,853.

The new positive cases announced on Saturday morning were from samples taken from September 10 to 18.

A total of 28,995 samples have been submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency, UWI and other local sites for testing.

There are 2,097 active cases, 829 have been discharged from public health facilities, and there have been 866 recovered community cases. The latter represents people with covid19 who were self-isolated at home and later met the discharge criteria and were released from self-isolation.
