A Longdenville couple was arrested after police found a large quantity of "zesser pills" at their home.

The pills were found in a room in the couple's home at Longdenville near Chaguanas.

A police report on Thursday said members of the Central Division Task Force North and Central Division Gang Unit were searching the house for arms and ammunition.

They found a large black plastic bag containing multicoloured pills. The "zesser pill" is a combination of ecstasy and cocaine and is illegal under the Dangerous Drugs Act.

In another part of the house, they found two magazines, which they also seized.

The woman and man were taken to the Chaguanas Police Station and questioned. They are expected to be charged and taken before a Chaguanas magistrate.
