Man charged for sexual abuse of 3 girls

A 38-year-old man was arrested and charged with sexual offences against three girls.

A police report said, the man, who is known to the family and took two of the three girls; ages six and ten to a river to bathe on April 12.

His behaviour at the river is being investigated by the Eastern Division Child Protection Unit (CPU) after a report was made. During their investigations, the mans behaviour toward another 12-year-old female relative of the two girls was called into question.

The suspect has been in hiding from the police since May 2020. He was arrested on September 11, during the sting operation.

He was charged with three counts of sexual penetration of a child, one count of sexual touching of a child, and one count of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. He was expected to appear before the Sangre Grande Magistrate Court on Monday.
