POLICE Commissioner Gary Griffith said on Sunday the matter involving a woman on a beach is still being investigated.

In a brief phone interview with Newsday, Griffith said he would make no further comment on the matter as it was under investigation. He did not say whether or not the police was able to find her, again, repeating that the matter was under investigation.

On Saturday, the police issued a statement seeking the public’s help in identifying the woman. She said in the video,“It has come to my attention that some of you guys have a problem with us being on the beach, but it is our private beach - our private land. We are not risking anybody’s lives because it is just us family here. We know each other’s whereabouts and who we’re around.

“Not that I need to explain this to anyone, but we are just fortunate to have this beautiful place and you don’t. So don’t complain on Facebook again.”

The police on its Facebook page then reminded the public that all beaches, rivers and water parks remain closed in accordance with the public health ordinance regulations and that there was nothing as a private or public beach.

It asked for anyone with information on the identity or whereabouts of the person in the video to contact the police.

On Saturday the Prime Minister announced that the existing public health regulations will remain in effect for another 28 days ending on October 11.
