No new covid19 deaths after seven in one day record

There have been no additional covid19 deaths on Saturday morning, after a record of seven on Friday which brought TT’s number to 50.

However, 67 more people tested positive for covid19, bringing the total number of positive cases to 2,892. The results were from samples taken during the period September 2 to 12.

The Health Ministry's 10 am update said the number of samples submitted to the public and private sites was 26,551, the number of unique patient tests were 23,508, and the number of repeated tests was 3,043.

The number of active cases is 2,076 with 113 patients in hospitals, 128 in step-down facilities, and 1,768 isolated at home under the continuous monitoring of the respective County Medical Officer Health (CMOH) offices.

Eighty patients are being treated at Couva Hospital with five in the intensive care unit and four in the high dependency unit. Twenty-nine are at Caura, and four at Arima hospitals.

Four people were discharged, bringing that number up to 766.
