JMMB service interruptions this weekend

JMMB will be updating its new core banking system between Friday, September 11 and Monday, September 14.

In a release the bank said clients will therefore have interrupted access to their accounts over the weekend. All Visa Debit, point of sale purchases, online transactions and transactions at other banks' ATMs will be down.

The interruptions are staggered. On Friday clients can expect disruptions between 7 pm and 8.15 pm. The next scheduled interruption will be from Sunday at 2 am to Monday at 5 pm. JMMB TT CEO Ronald Carter said via the release that it is recommended that clients withdraw necessary funds before the scheduled downtime or any time during the day on Saturday but from other banks' ATMs.

“We want to ensure that our clients are well prepared for this disruption and have access to funds for the duration. We are aware that this is a tremendous inconvenience to JMMB clients, but...this has become necessary to ensure a successful upgrade to our systems and to improve our client’s service experience,” he said.

All Linx transactions and JMMB ATMs will be down from 7 pm Friday until Monday at 5 pm. JMMB’s online banking will be interrupted from Friday at 7 pm to 12 noon on Monday so clients will not be able to access these services, including reviewing accounts, transferring money between accounts and accessing bank statements. JMMB branches will be closed to the public on Monday and will re-open for business on Tuesday.
