Four covid19 deaths in one day, total now 43

Four men died of covid19 on Thursday, increasing the number of fatalities due to the virus to 43.

Three of the patients had ailments, but the fourth was the first case of someone without any previous health problems, the Ministry of Health revealed in its daily updates.

Three deaths were reported as at 6 pm, following the day's first death announced by the ministry in the 10 am release.

The ministry said the latest three cases included an elderly male with co-morbidities, an adult male with co-morbidities and “another adult male" – the first patient without a pre-existing condition. The fourth death was an elderly man who suffered from other ailments.

One hundred and ten new cases were reported on Thursday, raising the total positive cases to 2,698.

The number of active cases is now 1,900. The 35 cases reported last evening have not been in circulation within the national community. Sixteen cases among the day's total cases came from the Police Training Academy.

All of the day's positive cases reflect results from samples taken during August 29 to September 9.

The number of samples submitted for testing is now 26,176 with 181 more samples submitted since Thursday morning. The number of persons discharged is now 755.
