Secretary of Education Kelvin Charles on Wednesday said the THA Executive Council will spend $7,825,000 for the procurement of digital devices to assist students in online learning.

The division recently revealed 4,000 students are lacking devices to log into the online platforms. Schools have been physically closed since March due to covid19. The new school term begins on Monday.

At Wednesday's press briefing in Scarborough, Charles appealed to corporate TT to assist students.

"The division is also appealing to business organisations, members of civil society, churches, alumni of all schools and other citizens who have the financial means and capability, to assist a relative or student in your community," he said.

Charles said people can also adopt a school to aid students in their online learning.
