197 covid19 cases reported Wednesday

A total of 197 more people were reported to have tested positive for covid19 by the Ministry of Health on Wednesday. The results were from samples collected between August 29 and September 8. There are now 1,800 active cases in TT.

In updates on Wednesday, the ministry noted that 43 of those cases referred to people housed at the Police Training Academy. The ministry said those people were not in circulation with the national community, and all established protocols were implemented for each of the cases.

The number of samples that have tested positive out of at total of 25,995 tests done, now stands at 2,588. There have been 39 deaths owing to covid19 and a total of 749 people recovered and were discharged.
