Two more covid19 deaths bring TT's total to 39

Two more people have died from covid19 in Trinidad and Tobago, bringing the number of deaths to 39.

The first, reported in the Ministry of Health's 10 am update was an elderly female with co-morbidities. The ministry's 6 pm update said an elderly male with co-morbidities was the day's second fatality.

A total of 114 people were reported to have tested positive, taking the total number of active cases to 1,609. The results were from samples taken between August 28 and September 8.

Nine recovered patients were discharged on Tuesday, bringing that total to 743.

The number of samples submitted to the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA), the UWI and other local sites for testing is 25,796, of which 2,391 tested positive.
