Teen to appear for pensioner's murder

A 16-year-old boy is scheduled to appear before a virtual magistrate court on Tuesday charged with the murder of Kowsil Ramkhelawan.

Ramkhelawan, 71, of Coalmine, Sangre Grande, was stabbed repeatedly with an ice-pick by an intruder at her home on August 24.

The suspect was arrested on August 30, by officers of the Eastern Division.

ASP Douglas of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations Region 2 led the investigation into the case while the charge was laid by WPC Christine Jacob.
