Another man dies, covid19 deaths now 32

An adult male with co-morbidities is the latest person to have died as a result of covid19. This brings the total number of deaths to 32.

The Ministry of Health's covid19 update on Saturday morning said an 102 additional people tested positive, with those samples being taken from August 28 to September 4. Thirty-three of those people were already quarantined at public health facilities and have not been circulating in the national community.

The total number of cases is now 2,142, and the number of active cases increased from 1,302 on Friday night to 1,393.

The number of samples submitted to public and private facilities was 24,692, the number of unique patient tests was 21,770, and the number of repeated tests was 2,922.

At Caura and Couva hospitals there are 100 people and 69 will be processed for admission at the discretion of the county medical officer of health (CMOH).

A total of 1,185 people have been home-quarantined under the continuous monitoring of the respective CMOH offices, and 39 are at step-down facilities. Ten more people were discharged bringing the number to 717.
