Security guard arrested after man shot in Palmyra

A 34-year-old security guard was arrested in connection with a shooting incident on Friday morning in Palmyra village. Police said the victim was at home around 1.10 am and went to check on his car after he heard dogs barking outside. He was confronted by an unknown man who shot him in the left wrist and left eye, then ran away.

The victim was taken to the San Fernando General Hospital and had emergency surgery. Police say he is in a serious but stable condition. Acting on information, Ste Madeleine police went to a house at Deonarine Street, Palmyra and arrested the guard. Investigations are continuing.
