One more dies from covid19, 30 deaths total

THE country has recorded another covid19-related death, bringing the total to 30.

In its 10 am update on Friday, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said the deceased was an adult male. No further information about the patient was provided.

Additionally, MoH said the number of active covid19 cases increased by 46, taking the total to 1,293. Seven people were discharged, bringing that total to 707.

The number of samples submitted to Carpha, UWI and other testing sites was 24,449, with 21,527 unique patient tests and 2,922 repeated tests.

The number of samples that have tested positive is 2,030.

The update added that the new cases showed results from samples taken during the period August 28-September 2 and the figure was not representative of the cases over the last 24 hours only.

There are 100 patients at hospital – 74 people at the Couva hospital of whom six are in the ICU and 13 in the High Dependency Unit (HDU), and 23 at Caura.

There are five people in step-down facilities: three at UWI Debe and two at NAPA.

The ministry said 1,142 patients were in home isolation being monitored by the County Medical Officer Health (CMOH) offices.
