Eve, TT coaches wish Warner speedy recovery

ANGUS Eve, speaking on behalf of TT football coaches, wished Jack Warner a speedy recovery as the former FIFA vice-president has contracted covid19.

Eve, the former TT midfielder and captain, said, “We also want to take this opportunity to send out our well wishes to Mr Warner and his family. We heard through the media that he contracted the covid19, and to all the other families who have been affected by it we reach out to them this morning and our prayers are with them also.”

Eve, the national men’s Under-17 head coach and men’s Under-20 assistant coach, was speaking at a media conference on Friday at the Fatima Ground, Mucurapo to address outstanding salaries owed to national coaches.

Warner, 77, is a former CONCACAF and CFU (Caribbean Football Union) president as well as ex-special advisor to the TT Football Association. He was also the Lopinot/Bon Air West candidate for the Independent Liberal Party for the TT general elections on August 10.

Also attending the media conference were national women’s Under-17 and women’s Under-20 head coach Richard Hood and the Under-15 men’s assistant coaches Clayton Morris and Wayne Sheppard.
